Tamjanika is an indigenous Serbian white wine grape variety, a close relative of Italian Moscato. The best results come from the Aleksandrovac wine region (Zupa Aleksandrovacka), located between Krusevac and Vrnjacka Banja, in the heart of central Serbia winegrowing country, at altitudes of 250 to 350 metres.
Vinarija Ivanovic cultivates Tamjanika using traditional methods, with hand-harvest in the late ripening phase when sugar content is optimal. The wine is vinified in controlled conditions at low temperatures to preserve the fine floral and fruity aromas. The result is a semi-sweet white wine of golden colour, with intense aromas of rose petal, sweet orange, mango and muscat.
On the palate it is sweet, with fresh acidity that balances the sweetness and gives a long-lasting finish. Ideally served chilled at 8 to 10 degrees, as a dessert wine with fruit cakes, blue cheeses or sweet pies. It also pairs excellently with Indian and Thai cuisine thanks to its aromatic profile. Contains 12.5 percent alcohol by volume. Sale prohibited to persons under 18 years of age.
