Jelen Gold is the best-selling beer in Serbia and part of the national identity since 1756, when the first brewery in the then-Habsburg monarchy was founded in Apatin. Over 250 years later, Apatinska pivara continues to produce in the same factory location in the western Backa town of Apatin, using water from local artesian wells.
Jelen Gold is a classic pale lager of bottom fermentation, brewed from Vojvodina barley, central European hops and a natural yeast strain that the brewery has preserved for over a hundred years. The hallmark of this beer is its clean malty flavour, subtle hoppy bitterness and refreshing natural carbonation.
