The Government of the Republic of Serbia has adopted new tourist tax amounts effective from 1 May 2026, with three categories of tourist zones.

The Government of the Republic of Serbia has adopted amendments to the Regulation on the amount of the tourist tax (boravisna taksa), which take effect on 1 May 2026. The new provisions introduce three categories of tourist zones instead of the previous two, with differentiated per-night amounts.

Category 1 (Belgrade, Novi Sad, Zlatibor, Kopaonik, Tara, Vrnjacka Banja, Sokobanja): the tourist tax is 240 RSD per person per night. Category 2 (cities and municipalities with developed tourism — Nis, Subotica, Cacak, Sremski Karlovci, Knjazevac and other destinations): 150 RSD per person per night. Category 3 (all other destinations): 90 RSD per person per night.

Children up to 7 years old are exempt from payment, while children aged 7 to 15 and persons with disabilities pay 50 percent of the amount. The tourist tax is collected by the accommodation provider at check-out and transferred to the competent local self-government.

Revenues from the tourist tax are entirely directed to local tourism organisations and are intended for the improvement of tourism facilities, destination marketing and the maintenance of public tourism infrastructure.
